Ruffini reviewed twenty-four previous collections to identify pieces that felt uniquely hers. She kept ivory garments alongside deep green, blue, and powdery shirtmaker blue. The final selection acts as a self-portrait of her own summer suitcase.
Pajamas receive tailored sartorial updates
A white pajama top features green twill piping inlaid into the fabric rather than applied on top. A subtly narrowed cuff includes an internal button to shape the sleeve. One longer trouser design has moved from bedtime wear to evening outings.
Print archive undergoes strict reduction
The designer mined her history for fragments and enlarged a leaf motif until it appeared monumental. A recurring rose bouquet was rebuilt using only tonal shades without color. Only five prints survived the process of cutting down the abundance accumulated over twelve years.
