Reforms target sustainable expansion

The minister stated that structural reforms are underway to stabilize the economy and improve the tax system. He emphasized reducing energy costs and encouraging private sector participation as key priorities for the current fiscal year.

Export targets and reserves

IT exports are projected to reach USD 5.5 billion while remittances are expected to hit USD 44 billion this year. Foreign exchange reserves remain sufficient to cover more than three months of imports, a significant improvement from previous crisis levels.

Avoiding past economic cycles

Aurangzeb warned against returning to consumption-led growth models that previously caused balance-of-payments problems requiring years to resolve. The government aims to break the historical boom-and-bust cycle by focusing on productivity and export competitiveness.
