Restoration confirmed by Kyiv

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that access to the satellite systems was restored overnight. Defense Minister Evhenii Khmara told reporters that monitoring systems recorded a return to normal speed. The ministry noted that connection speeds are now over 400km per hour.

Reasons for the slowdown

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk admitted on Saturday that his company had throttled the service in Ukraine. He claimed Kyiv's forces used the civilian commercial network for offensive drone strikes against Russian targets. Some reports suggest President Donald Trump requested the restoration of the military-grade Starshield service.

Impact on military operations

The restrictions previously hampered Ukraine's ability to intercept Russian attack drones and strike behind enemy lines. Several combat missions failed during the period when connections were limited to lower speeds. The US government manages the Starlink terminals while SpaceX produces the hardware.
