Bose releases first wired earbuds in 11 years with active noise canceling
Bose announced today that its new Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds are available for preorder and will begin shipping on October 15.
Product features and price
The earbuds cost $99 and connect via a USB-C cable to modern phones. They eliminate the need for batteries or an app by using a physical tether. Two microphones on each bud work with QuietControl technology to provide active noise canceling.
Available colors and modes
Customers can choose from black, white smoke, or a limited edition green shade called dewdrop mint. The inline remote allows users to cycle through Quiet Mode, Aware Mode, or turn off active noise canceling entirely. An additional microphone on the remote handles phone calls effectively.
Market context and demand
Wired headphone sales saw a 10 percent spike in late 2025 before rising another 20 percent at the start of 2026. Bose president Raza Haider noted that college students are driving this surge in wired audio usage. The company is responding to this trend by reviving a product category discontinued in 2015.
