RIKEN researchers achieve high-fidelity control of three silicon qubits simultaneously
Researchers at the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science published a study in Nature Physics showing they controlled three silicon spin qubits with over 99.99% gate fidelity.

New method solves parallel control errors
The team used a five-qubit silicon array connected by a single shared microwave line to run the experiment. They identified a specific source of errors that occurs when multiple qubits operate under parallel control. The researchers then developed a technique to mitigate these effects and maintain high accuracy.
Results support scaling up processors
Leon Camenzind, a research scientist at RIKEN, stated that this result shows high-fidelity control is possible during simultaneous operation. This achievement represents an important step toward building scalable silicon-based quantum processors using existing semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
