Punjab Revenue Authority accelerates business registration and E-IMS installation in 14 sectors
The Punjab Revenue Authority decided to speed up new business registration and Electronic Invoice Monitoring System installation across 14 designated sectors on Wednesday.
Chairman directs faster registration
PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra chaired a performance review meeting for the Lahore and Rawalpindi Commissionerates. He directed all offices to develop strategies for identifying new taxable services and bringing them into the tax net. Specific targets were assigned to officers to increase installations of the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System.
Enforcement teams will be formed
The authority ordered the constitution of enforcement teams to ensure increased business registration and system installation. Officers must also monitor pending tax cases and recover outstanding dues in a timely manner. Sipra emphasized that chambers of commerce and trade associations should help fast-track the integration process.
Warning against fake receipts
The Chairman warned firms issuing fake receipts or tampering with records would face strict action. Such offenders could also be subject to a tax surcharge even if they have the system installed. The meeting focused on assessing operational performance and enforcement activities within the designated commissionerates.
