Guilty plea and sentencing details

Wong pleaded guilty in September to charges involving foreign collusion under the national security law. The High Court judge described his actions as grave and part of a scheme to arouse foreign attention. He will serve this new term concurrently with his remaining time for a previous subversion conviction.

Court proceedings and appearance

The former student leader entered the court wearing a blue shirt and black glasses on Thursday morning. Wong nodded to supporters while scanning the public and reporters before the ruling was announced. After the sentencing, he thanked and waved at his supporters as he left the building.
