US suspends Microsoft and major IT firms from green card program
Senior US officials announced on Thursday that the government is suspending Microsoft, Adobe, and several other large technology companies from a skilled worker residency program.

Officials cite fraud allegations
The Department of Labor will not accept new or process pending applications for these specific employers. Vice President JD Vance stated that the action aims to encourage companies to hire American workers instead of foreign staff. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling confirmed that Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini face the same suspension alongside Microsoft and Adobe.
Universities under investigation
Vice President Vance also ordered an inquiry into nine universities for allegedly using international students to lower wages. The list includes Harvard, Yale, and Stanford among the institutions facing scrutiny from federal inspectors. Labor Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito noted that subpoenas have already been served to these educational organizations.
