Heavy rains flood Gaza displacement camps while aid entry remains blocked
Thousands of displaced Palestinians in Gaza Strip tents have been flooded by heavy rain overnight as Israeli authorities continue to restrict the entry of shelter materials.

Flooded shelters and distressed residents
Local authorities reported that at least 70,000 tents were flooded within the past 12 hours. Residents described soaking blankets and mattresses while trying to repair their makeshift structures with sand. Civil defence officials received 1,500 distress calls from displaced people struggling against the rising water levels.
Aid restrictions worsen winter conditions
Israeli authorities consider items like tent poles and mobile homes as dual use goods and have barred their entry. This restriction leaves tens of thousands exposed to the elements without fuel or proper protection for a fourth winter. International organizations warn that current supply pipelines cover barely 17 per cent of identified winter needs.
Infrastructure damage limits response
Municipal and civil defence officials stated they could not cope with the storm due to fuel shortages and equipment damage. Three abandoned houses collapsed during the event, though no injuries were reported from those specific incidents. Residents remain overwhelmed as water continues to enter their encampments without adequate resources to drain it.
