Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches on Nintendo Switch 2 with Wuhu Island setting
Nintendo has released a new sports game called Switch Sports Resort featuring the Wuhu Island location on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Game features open world island
The title takes place on an open-world version of Wuhu Island. This setting was first seen in a game released in 2009. The environment includes sun, sea and sports activities for players.
Controls use Joy-Con 2 hardware
Players grip the Joy-Con 2 controllers between their fingertips to play. One mode allows users to soar across the island in a prop plane. This flight mechanic resembles the Pilotwings style found in previous Nintendo titles.
Series history shows mixed results
The original Wii Sports sold 82.9 million units globally outside of Japan. Later sequels in the series struggled to match that initial impact. Critics noted these follow-ups added mini-games without retaining the trademark Nintendo soul.
