Bangkok interior designer explores hidden river spots with vintage boat
A Bangkok interior designer took visitors on a sunset tour of the Chao Phraya River and its canals using a 1957 cruiser.

Tour covers western river side
The group traveled past Wat Arun to reach Thonburi, the less-frequented western side of the waterway. The boatman then navigated into a klong, or canal, to show local areas.
Group visits rarely seen temple
Visitors hopped ashore at Wat Ratchaorasaram after the compound closed for the day. An orange-robed monk paused his vacuuming so guests could admire ancient imagery on the ceiling and walls.
Evening ends at family eatery
The group docked at a rickety pier belonging to a family-run eatery. They ate squid in black sauce, spicy tom yum soup, and giant river prawns as darkness fell.
