Avavav designer Beate Skonare Karlsson presents mature Spring 2027 collection in Stockholm

Shift from viral digital shows

The designer chose to stage the event in Stockholm instead of Milan for this season. This location change represents a return to roots rather than a retreat from the industry. The collection marks her most grown-up work while keeping a sense of fun.

New shapes and textures

Karlsson transported specific accessory shapes into garments for this lineup. Curvy pockets on jackets featured larva forms that contrasted with heavy pleating. Techniques like slashes and skeletal-rib motifs differentiated the streetwear silhouettes.

Design signatures evolve

Previous creations included anthropomorphic finger shoes and scalloped larva bags. The new collection puts aside some of those earlier categories to focus on softer, rounder shapes. Pleating remained the main preoccupation for the spring season.
