Amgen drug combination extends survival in small cell lung cancer trial
Amgen reported new data at a medical symposium showing its Imdelltra combined with AstraZeneca's Imfinzi improved survival outcomes for patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.

Trial results show lower mortality
Data from the study unveiled on Saturday indicated that the combination therapy decreased mortality risk by 58% compared to Imfinzi alone. Nearly 80% of patients receiving both drugs remained alive at one year, while only 53% survived on the immunotherapy drug by itself.
Pricing and revenue projections
The US list price for Imdelltra is approximately $300,000 per cycle or higher. Wall Street analysts project annual revenues from this combination will surpass $2.5 billion by 2030.
Safety profile comparison
Discontinuation due to adverse events occurred in 5.7% of patients taking the combination therapy. This rate is slightly lower than the 5.8% discontinuation rate seen with single-agent Imfinzi.
