New study maps political risks

The Berlin-based Better Politics Foundation conducted the largest survey of its kind into Australian representatives. Researchers gathered experiences from 288 current and five former members across federal, state, and local levels. The findings are currently in draft form and expected for public release next month.

Haines highlights safety concerns

The injured MP stated that representatives should not have to wear physical or emotional protective gear. Her office authorized the ABC to attribute these words to her during the recent attack aftermath. The report introduction features an anonymous quote that Haines herself penned for the foundation.
