Data collected from seven student teams

Huang gathered information from two groups at Leiden University College and two from the Leiden Leadership Programme. She also included three teams from the LDE Sustainability Honours Programme in her analysis. The research focuses on how these groups function during their projects.

Motivation for choosing interdisciplinarity

The researcher arrived at the university from China in 2021 when interdisciplinary education was already popular there. She noted that the pandemic showed single disciplines struggle to solve complex problems effectively. Huang saw a clear opportunity to explore teaching methods that combine different fields of study.

Future plans for next year

The student will conduct a new study where teachers react to various scenarios soon. This upcoming project follows her current work on deep dives into student collaboration patterns.
