Researchers collected over 500 water samples

['Professor Damian Helbling led a team that gathered more than 500 samples from various locations. The group tested these specimens for 24 common types of forever chemicals found in the area.']

Data covers all eleven Finger Lakes

['The sampling effort included every one of the 11 major lakes plus many tributaries, ponds, and puddles. An interactive map now displays these results to help residents understand local water quality.']

Overall chemical concentrations remain low

['The new data indicates that PFAS levels are generally not elevated across the region. This finding offers relief to community members who previously lacked specific information about their local water sources.']
