Punjab approves parks authorities for all districts by January 2027
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the creation of Parks and Horticulture Authorities in every district of the province with a January 2027 deadline.
Current operational status and new appointments
Officials reported that these bodies are already active in ten districts while eleven others have recently been established. The government cleared recruitment for 2,820 technical posts covering managing directors and district-level staff.
Expansion plans and resource allocation
The second phase will see these authorities set up in every tehsil across the region. Chief Minister Nawaz directed officials to prepare specific resource plans for each district and launch phased plantation drives.
Infrastructure and branding directives
The meeting approved designs for food courts within the new authorities while planning uniform branding for staff and vehicles. Officials were also ordered to ensure trees and flowers are planted in every available vacant space.
