Conway misses remainder of tour

The New Zealand batsman suffered the injury during an incident involving teammate Matt Henry earlier this week. Fast bowler Henry has been cleared of concussion and will play in the second match scheduled for Wellington on Saturday. Nick Kelly has been called up from the New Zealand A squad to fill the vacancy left by Conway.

India leads five-match series

The hosts won the first ODI in Auckland on Wednesday by five wickets despite rain disruption. That victory gives India a 1-0 lead in the overall five-match one-day international series against New Zealand. The team will now look to bounce back when they host the second game this weekend.

Tests start in November

New Zealand hopes Conway makes a full recovery before the first of two test matches begins. Those tests are scheduled to start in Wellington on November 19 against India. The side needs its batting mainstay back for the longer format series.
