Hotel Lucile in Silver Lake finally opens after delays
The 25-room Hotel Lucile opened its doors to guests on September 14, 2026, in the Silver Lake neighborhood.

Project timeline and delays
The property originally planned a soft opening for late 2024. Developers pushed the date to spring 2025 before moving it again to 2026. The building finally welcomed visitors on September 14 after a fifteen-year effort.
Building features and layout
The renovated church retains its stained glass windows and a towering cross outside. Inside, the nave serves as a New American French restaurant called Sous Sous. A marble bar stands near floor-to-vaulted-ceiling curtains within the dining area.
Reasons for the delay
Jennifer Armbruster of Casetta cites the deal structure of the church as a factor. She also points to COVID and permitting issues alongside other challenges. A new city code contributed to the extended construction period.
