Burbank Airport opens new Elevate terminal after safety upgrades
Hollywood-Burbank Airport officially opened its new 355,000-square-foot Elevate terminal on Tuesday, October 13.

New terminal exceeds safety standards
The original runway built in 1930 sat just 250 feet from the old building. The new structure sits about 880 feet back to meet current FAA design standards. This construction project was approved in 2016 and began in early 2024.
Construction cost reaches one billion
The total project value is $1.3 billion. The new space is approximately 53 percent larger than the predecessor terminal. Completion of this build allows for a safer landing pad closer to the east side of the city.
