MSC restores direct shipping link between Karachi and European ports
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced on Thursday that Mediterranean Shipping Company has reinstated a direct service connecting Karachi with major European destinations.

New weekly calls at Karachi terminal
The carrier will operate a weekly vessel call at the Karachi Gateway Terminal International. This route connects the Pakistani port through Colombo to hubs including Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, and London Gateway. The service addresses exporter demands for a dedicated connection to Europe.
Relief for textile sector exporters
Minister Chaudhry stated that the restoration helps export-oriented industries facing increased transit times. Textile exporters had previously reported difficulties caused by route changes linked to Red Sea disruptions. The new arrangement aims to reduce transportation costs and improve delivery schedules for shipments to US and European markets.
