Official announcement of operations

The Presidential Leadership Council chair confirmed the start of these actions in a televised address. He stated that forces would extend state authority across the entire national territory.

Context of recent fighting

Security sources reported that Houthi fighters cut off supply routes to the besieged city of Taiz earlier Sunday. This move followed a rapid offensive by the group last month which seized large areas along the Red Sea coastline.

Targets for government forces

Alimi called on armed formations to carry out assigned missions until the country is liberated from the militia. Strikes have reportedly targeted Houthi positions in Sanaa, Saada and Taiz.
