Max Verstappen leads timesheets as Formula One returns to Sepang for Bahrain GP
Formula One returned to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on Friday for the first practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Verstappen sets fastest time
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen recorded the quickest lap during the morning session. He finished ahead of George Russell, who drove an upgraded Mercedes to second place. Isack Hadjar from Red Bull took third position while Kimi Antonelli led the championship standings.
Ferrari and Alpine drivers followed
Other teams perform well
Charles Leclerc drove for Ferrari in this session alongside his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Pierre Gasly from Alpine finished seventh before Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad completed the top ten. Both Lawson and Lindblad will start from the back of the grid due to penalties.
