UK lawmakers reject bill to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales
British lawmakers voted down legislation that would have allowed terminally ill adults in England and Wales to apply for an assisted death. The House of Commons rejected the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill by a vote of 286 against to 270 in favor. This outcome leaves the existing ban on assisted dying unchanged after previous attempts were blocked in the House of Lords.
