TikTok tourists damage fragile Pink Cliffs at Heathcote

The exposed rock formations are vulnerable because foot traffic accelerates natural wear. Ranger Peter Barrow stated that visitors must stay behind barriers to protect the unique geology. He explained that while current generations might not notice the impact, future ones could lose the ability to see this site.
Site history and rules
The cliffs remain as a remnant of gold mining operations from the 1800s. Authorities say visitors are welcome to explore the reserve provided they follow specific guidelines. People must not walk over the formations to capture perfect pictures for online sharing.
