Punjab Minister says cultural heritage sites are being developed to boost tourism
Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced on Sunday that the province is developing its cultural heritage and tourist destinations under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision.
Tourism as economic growth tool
Marriyum Aurangzeb stated in a message for World Tourism Day that tourism serves as a source of economic growth and employment. She emphasized that the chief minister views this sector as a means to foster peace alongside recreation. Facilities at various tourist destinations are being expanded following directions from the provincial leadership.
Archaeology expo and site mapping
The province organized its first Archaeology and Tourism Expo under the current chief minister's leadership. Officials have completed mapping for 170 priority heritage sites for the first time. Scientific preservation work is currently underway at these locations.
