Opposition leader Achakzai refuses to meet PM at official locations

National Assembly opposition leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai said on Thursday he would not hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister's House, Office or Speaker's chamber.

Conditions for political dialogue

Achakzai stated he is prepared to sit under any tree in Pakistan or visit the home of any party leader. He insisted that any meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif must occur after a discussion with jailed former premier Imran Khan. This stance was given while speaking to media outside Parliament House following a gathering of opposition leaders.

Context of the invitation

The comments addressed an invitation from Prime Minister's Adviser Rana Sanaullah for Achakzai and PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan to meet the premier. Achakzai questioned the legitimacy of the current government mandate while outlining his specific requirements for future negotiations. Reports indicate these remarks came as tensions rise over a planned protest march scheduled for October 4.
