New structure replaces old layout

Officials say the redesign shifts focus away from individual centers toward broader categories like health, research, and data. The beta version soft-launched this week but some functions such as search are not yet operational. Existing websites will remain available while critical content is verified and redirects are put in place.

Goal is easier information access

Amanda Fine, NIH deputy director for public affairs, stated the goal is to make trusted information easier and faster to find. The overhaul aims to replace a sprawling ecosystem that previously required users to understand the agency's organizational structure. Researchers studying science communication describe the change as a welcome development for the public.
