New overnight rail options arrive

The Travelski Night Express began operations last winter with routes starting from Paris and Amsterdam. An additional path for travelers coming from the United Kingdom is now available for the upcoming season. This service allows passengers to reach Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne, and Bourg-Saint-Maurice by Friday evening departures.

Journey time compares to flying

Daytime rail travel from London can match the total door-to-door duration of a flight when accounting for airport queues and transfers. A sleeper carriage provides couchette berths while a large restaurant car offers dining and music during the trip. Travelers on this route gain extra time on the slopes compared to flying.

Connections extend to Austria

Skiers can also take a Nightjet sleeper train from Paris or Brussels to reach the Salzburgerland region in Austria. UK travelers connect to these international services using the Eurostar to reach Paris or Brussels first. Overnight journeys provide an alternative to flying for those heading to Alpine destinations.
