Visas approved for top officials

A State Department spokesman confirmed on Thursday that travel permits were issued for President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The administration stated the group will be smaller than the delegation sent last year.

Strict travel restrictions apply

Officials said the visitors will face prohibitions on purchasing luxury goods and other specific American products while in the country. These rules align with previous policies requiring permission before buying items like cars or jewellery.

War continues without resolution

The United States and Iran remain locked in a conflict that has now lasted for seven months. Negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz and nuclear talks have stalled with no sign of an agreement.
