Three migrants died after dinghy ran into trouble off French coast
French authorities confirmed three deaths, including a child, on Monday when an overcrowded boat carrying 105 people encountered difficulties crossing the Channel.

Maritime police received a distress signal in the early hours from the inflatable vessel. The boat had departed near Sangatte with passengers before running into trouble in calm seas.
Cause of fatalities identified
Officials stated that crushing rather than drowning likely caused the deaths of the three people on board. A 10-year-old child and two women were among those confirmed dead after being flown out by helicopter.
Rescue operations continue at scene
Six rescue boats remained at the location off Wissant searching for survivors in the water. Local officials described the vessel as a water taxi that picked up passengers from the beach.
