Saudi Arabia postpones Davos in the Desert conference due to Houthi attacks
Organisers of Saudi Arabia's Future Investment Initiative have postponed the in-person segment until next year following deadly Houthi attacks on the kingdom.

Event rescheduled for 2027
The conference was originally planned to run from October 26 to 29 but will now occur in 2027. A new specific date is expected to be announced very soon by the organisers. The state-backed event serves as a flagship gathering for global financiers and investment plans.
Security concerns drive decision
Recent deadly strikes involving the Houthis have disrupted business across the region and forced this cancellation. Organisers are currently weighing options such as holding the gathering virtually or fully delaying it again. The conflict has also caused other Gulf conferences to be cancelled or retooled earlier this year.
Key speakers planned for show
Expected attendees included top executives from Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered, and Citi according to a draft programme. The event aims to attract billions of dollars needed for economic transformation away from hydrocarbons. This tenth edition had become a must-attend occasion for many world leaders in finance.
