Saudi Arabia accuses Iran of encouraging Houthis amid renewed attacks
A Saudi foreign ministry official accused Iran of supporting Houthis in Yemen on Thursday as fighting between the two sides intensified.

Iran accused of arming militia
Dr Rayed Krimly, deputy minister for public diplomacy at the foreign ministry, stated that Tehran continues to arm and train the group. He added that this support violates UN Security Council resolutions during a virtual briefing with reporters.
Houthis refuse diplomatic meeting
The official said Saudi Arabia asked Houthis to meet in Muscat, Oman, at the start of the latest escalation. The group refused the invitation, and Krimly noted that this was the last communication regarding the matter.
Attacks target key facilities
The Saudi-led military coalition reported that Houthis attempted to attack dozens of airports, ports, and oil facilities. Fighting has dramatically escalated since a UN-brokered truce collapsed in July.
