Field Marshal visits Tehran twice

Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has visited Tehran two times this month, with the most recent trip occurring on Monday. He traveled alongside Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin for these high-level contacts.

Mediation role confirmed by ISPR

ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry explained that the repeated visits indicate a positive development in the diplomatic process. The spokesman declined to disclose specific discussion details or confirm whether the United States backed the delegation's trip.

Makkah pact membership rules

Saudi Arabia and Turkey signed a joint defence pact with Pakistan on August 7 under which an attack on any signatory is treated as an attack on all. When asked if Iran could join, Chaudhry noted that the agreement wording does not bar new members.
