Investigation details confirmed by police

Cobb County Police Department officials stated that detectives from the major crimes unit are investigating the event. Authorities have not yet confirmed how the person died or what caused the injuries to others. A Six Flags spokesperson said the park and local authorities responded immediately to the situation.

Eyewitness accounts describe a fall

Multiple outlets reported that a person fell from the park's Goliath rollercoaster based on eyewitness testimony. The ride, which opened in 2006, has a top speed of 70mph and a 175ft drop. Anonymous local officials also supported the account of the fall.

Recent legal history for the chain

Six Flags recently settled a wrongful-death lawsuit involving a man who died after riding a coaster in 2022. Three more lawsuits alleging traumatic brain injuries were filed last week at another location. Last month, the company announced it was retiring its X2 rollercoaster in California amid similar injury claims.
