Lufthansa and Air India suspend flights to Riyadh after Houthi attacks
Lufthansa Group airlines and Air India announced on Thursday that they are suspending flights to Riyadh until mid-October following Houthi claims of an attack.

Airlines halt operations through October
The German carrier will stop service until October 16 citing current regional developments. Air India has cancelled all routes to the Saudi capital until October 10. Both groups stated they made these decisions after receiving reports of attacks.
Smoke rises from damaged aircraft
Witnesses observed smoke coming from a stationary plane at King Khalid International Airport earlier Thursday. Sources say the aircraft belonged to Saudi state carrier Saudia Airlines and caught fire while parked. No passengers were believed to be on board when the incident occurred.
Missile debris hits nearby sites
Saudi officials reported that fragments from an intercepted missile struck a kindergarten and medical complex in the capital. The Houthis claimed they used ballistic missiles to target the airport and warned workers to leave energy plants. Three people died during this week of strikes against Saudi Arabia.
