Mexican officials suspended school classes in Guerrero and Michoacan as the storm approaches. In Acapulco, local authorities used megaphones to warn residents about possible thunderstorms and urged them to locate temporary shelters. People expressed concern after Hurricane Otis devastated the town in 2023.

Flooding risk remains despite sea track

Even though the storm will not make landfall, life-threatening flooding and mudslides are expected. The National Hurricane Center notes that these dangers persist because of the heavy rain forecast for the region.
