Ex-prince Andrew receives compensation after surrendering Royal Lodge lease early
The Crown Estate announced that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was granted £302,000 in compensation for ending his Royal Lodge lease more than 50 years early.

Compensation and repair costs
The former Duke of York paid £1.8 million toward repairs before the lease ended. This payment reduced the final bill to £1.5 million after the compensation was applied. The surrender occurred within the first 25 years of the agreement, which triggered the payout terms.
Future plans for the property
A spokesperson stated the focus is now on finding new uses for the building. Two nationally recognised agents will market the site to generate additional financial value for the nation. The property was officially surrendered after the former resident moved into Marsh Farm.
