Collapsed Gaza building kills at least 14 people and traps dozens

Casualties and rescue efforts continue

Civil Defence teams recovered the bodies of 14 victims, including five children. Rescue workers also pulled out 10 injured people from the rubble. Teams reported hearing cries for help from those still trapped beneath the debris.

Building details and occupancy

The structure was a six or seven-storey residential building located on al-Sinaa Street. Approximately 80 people lived inside, representing more than 10 families according to residents. Most victims were found sleeping on mattresses when the collapse occurred.

Equipment shortages hinder progress

Rescue operations face difficulties because heavy machinery needed for extraction is missing. Much of Gaza's equipment was destroyed during earlier conflict actions. Workers continue to search while lacking necessary tools to reach survivors.
