Three news organizations filed a First Amendment lawsuit Monday against the Trump administration in Washington to restore their journalists' access to the White House.

Trump cites negative stories for ban
President Donald Trump announced the ban on Friday, claiming the organizations wrote fiction or lies about his government. He indicated he might add other outlets to the list if they continued publishing unfavorable content. Reporters from the three groups are currently unable to enter their workspaces inside the building.
Equipment access also restricted
CNN and MS NOW were blocked from using television equipment and camera locations on White House grounds. CNN was removed from pooled coverage responsibilities shared by major news outlets. The companies argue that government interference threatens public rights to independent journalism.
