Turkish carriers cancel Iran flights after US sanctions take effect
Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and AJet have cancelled all flights to and from Iran starting September 21 due to new US Treasury sanctions.
Flight suspensions begin immediately
Turkish Airlines and AJet websites show no scheduled services until March. Pegasus has removed all future bookings for the foreseeable future. A representative stated there is no guarantee flights will resume even after March 2027.
Sanctions cover Airbus aircraft
Sources say US Treasury restrictions prevent Airbus planes from flying because they contain American-made components. The carriers had no other choice but to suspend operations immediately. Mahan Air remains the only Iranian carrier barred from flying to Turkey as of Monday.
