Tencent launches TenPayGo app for foreign visitors to use WeChat Pay
Tencent has released a new payment application called TenPayGo to help international travellers make purchases across its network ahead of the APEC summit.

The new tool allows overseas visitors to link their credit cards or home-country digital wallets directly to the system. It currently supports seven international card networks including Visa and Mastercard alongside approximately 60 different overseas digital wallets. Partners such as Starryblu from Singapore are among the first batch of supported entities.
Registration process for users
Users must provide an email address to register for the service rather than using a local phone number. This requirement offers a simpler onboarding process compared to many other apps available in China that demand local contact details. The application was previously available in limited test versions on Apple's App Store and Google Play before this full rollout.
