Project scope and facilities

The approved development includes accommodation, restaurants, bars, and a wellness centre. Construction will also feature new pedestrian and cycleways for the local area.

Legal status of land sale

Local council members voted last year to buy back the land. That purchase process is currently before the Supreme Court.

Major project declaration date

The Tasmanian government officially declared this a major project on October 16, 2024. This status required assessment by an independent expert panel appointed by the commission.
