Pakistan urges Hong Kong to restart Cathay Pacific flights

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met with Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-Chiu in Karachi on Friday to discuss resuming air services.

Minister calls for flight resumption

Jam Kamal Khan asked Hong Kong authorities to explore restarting Cathay Pacific flights to the country. He stated that improved air connectivity could help boost trade and tourism between the two sides. The minister highlighted how stronger links would support business-to-business exchanges and commercial activities.

Officials reaffirm economic cooperation

Both leaders agreed to deepen trade, economic cooperation and people-to-people ties during their meeting. Jam Kamal noted Hong Kong's significant Pakistani diaspora and its contribution through remittances. Lee praised the minister's address at the Belt and Road Summit earlier that day.
