Defense minister explains the decision

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif told Bloomberg that the move aligns with Islamabad's stance on the issue. He stated that Pakistani airspace is now reserved exclusively for Chinese airlines. This action marks the first time Pakistan has restricted access for Taiwanese carriers.

Airlines adjust flight paths immediately

Carriers began changing their routes over the weekend to avoid the restricted zone. China Airlines and EVA Air stopped using Pakistani airspace by the morning of October 25. At least twelve flights between Asia and Europe have flown through Russian airspace since Sunday.
