Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced in Islamabad on Wednesday that the government will convert One Constitution Avenue into a five-star hotel within months.
Cabinet approves investigation findings
The federal cabinet approved a joint investigation team report on Wednesday. This approval allows the government to take legal possession of the property. The Capital Development Authority already held official records showing possession of the building.
Government seeks international operator
Officials plan to approach a major international hotel chain to run the facility. The minister stated that Islamabad currently faces a severe shortage of hotels. An agreement with an operator is expected to be finalised soon.
Compensation payments confirmed
The interior minister assured that individuals entitled to compensation will receive their payments. The CDA member administration will immediately assume responsibility for managing the building. The priority remains making the hotel operational as quickly as possible.
