Rescue efforts contained the blaze

Fire service officials brought the fire under control with the help of two units. Personnel from the Border Guard Bangladesh also participated in the rescue operation.

Victims and identification challenges

About 30 people were inside the three-story wooden building when the fire started. Some bodies were severely burned, making identification difficult and requiring potential DNA testing.

Safety violations and investigation

Authorities stated the resort lacked the required fire safety license and certificate. A committee has formed to determine the cause of the incident.
