China Southern Airlines suspends Darwin to Guangzhou direct flights after one year
China Southern Airlines will end its direct route between Darwin and Guangzhou with the final flight departing on December 3.

The carrier operated the route for less than a year before deciding to stop services. A spokesperson from the Airport Development Group stated that this decision was made by the airline for commercial reasons. The final scheduled departure from Darwin will occur on December 3.
Alternative travel options remain
Passengers can still reach China through established international hubs including Singapore, Denpasar and Dili. This suspension makes the Darwin to Guangzhou line the latest scrapped international route out of the Territory. It was previously the only direct flight operating between China and the Northern Territory.
