American Airlines will equip its entire mainline fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi by 2027
American Airlines announced it will install Starlink satellite internet on all of its mainline aircraft starting in 2027.

Fleet expansion doubles previous count
The carrier plans to upgrade more than 1,030 mainline planes, a number that exceeds the 500 aircraft cited earlier this year. This rollout includes both narrowbody and widebody aircraft types within the airline's primary operations.
Service speeds reach one gigabit
Passengers can expect connection speeds of up to 1Gbps through the Performance Aero Terminal system. The agreement shifts focus away from a previous strategy that involved a deal with AT&T for loyalty members.
Global partnership growth continues
This move adds American Airlines to the list of 48 airlines currently partnered with Starlink globally. United Airlines already operates the service on 724 aircraft, representing roughly 41 percent of its fleet.
