World Context hosts robotics hackathon at UC Berkeley with Google sponsorship
Pakistani data firm World Context held its first robotics hackathon at UC Berkeley in partnership with Blockchain at Berkeley.
Teams developed projects using provided datasets
Thirteen teams gathered to build solutions across hardware, software and visualization tracks. Participants utilized specific datasets supplied by World Context for their development work. Sortort won the hardware category while Reconstructors took both software and visualization prizes.
Event sponsors included major technology firms
Google Gemini, ElevenLabs and other partners funded the competition alongside UC Berkeley Startup. The total cash prize pool reached USD4,500 for all winners combined. Organizers noted that human demonstration data remains vital for training physical systems.
Company plans future university collaborations
World Context CEO Sherdil Ali Khan expressed surprise at the high quality of submissions received. The firm intends to continue working with universities to organize similar events in the future.
